The Plastic Bank: Tackling ocean plastic and global poverty with blockchain-based token rewards
July 22 2019
from
IBM
The Plastic Bank is a social enterprise that aims to use recycling to reduce ocean plastic and global poverty. Set up in May 2013, the social enterprise has been featured on over 200 media outlets, including the BBC, Forbes and TIME.
To support its plans for global expansion, The Plastic Bank selected IBM Blockchain technology delivered on a private cloud by managed service provider Cognition Foundry, powered by IBM® LinuxONE™. Blockchain is used to track the entire cycle of recycled plastic from collection, credit and compensation through delivery to companies for re-use.
Download this case study to discover how the LinuxOne technology is helping The Plastic Bank to change lives and make the world a better and cleaner place.
